In this present article, we are dealing with the third step of destiny fulfillment which,

What is vision? Vision also called visualization; is a projection into the future, a mental representation of how you want to use your potential to the fullest. Vision is the final result you want to obtain from your efforts, it is the dream you have for your future. To give you a simple picture, Vision is a snapshot of your future and your destiny.

The moment you have discovered your life’s purpose and are desiring to see it fulfill, develop a vision, have a projection in the future and mentally design the way you want to fulfill that destiny.

During World War II, Robert Woodruff, who was president of coca cola from 1923 to 1955, boldly declared that he will see that every person in uniform gets a bottle of Coca Cola for five cents wherever he is and whatever it costs. After the war, he said that he wanted everyone in the world to have tasted Coca Cola in his lifetime. Do you want to hear? Woodruff’s projection came to pass. Today, reports say that  more than 1.2 billion Coca cola bottles are consumed daily.

Woodruff’s mentally pictured the whole drinking Coca Cola and today we daily witness the fulfillment of woodruff’s vision; every day we see people drinking Coca Cola. Scarcely will somebody leave this world without haven drank Coca Cola at least ones during his life time.

All those who finally fulfill their destinies, also make a projection into the future at the initiate state of pursue of destiny. Paul the apostle who became the greatest apostle of all times, also made such a projection he declared: “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” (Phil 3:10.NIV) “.

A persuasive vision persuades. When you have a strong and sure vision for your future, it unconsciously influences all the other aspects of your life and you eventually succeed. Even the world has the habit of making room for the man whose words and actions show that he knows where he is going.

Vision provides a direction to your life. Two elements are essential for a successful journey; a road map and a destination. Of these two, destination should first be known then a road map drawn to reach the destination. Your vision is your destination and the other principles are the road map.

When you develop a vision for your life it makes you responsible as it is an indication that you want to take charge of your life. Before you reach the stage that you can properly picture what God wants you to do with your life, God is the one in control using you in your unawareness to accomplish his purposes. But He wants that at a particular level you become conscious of what he has been doing and where he is leading you to; that you take full charge. It is from your vision point that you take charge of your destiny.

Vision facilitates our choices in life. Most people encounter problems in creating the kind of life they want because they have not clearly determined where they want to go, or visualized what it is going to look like when they get there. Your vision automatically influences your choice of wife, location, job, in fact the choice of all.

Our vision helps us to detect our opportunities in life. When you know exactly what you want to become what you want to do and where you want to be, you better appreciate and make use of the openings you come across in life. Quite often you come across opportunities that can influence your destiny but fail to seize them simply because you don’t have a plan for your life; you don’t have a vision for the future.

It helps to get up from failure. Thomas Edison, when working on all his inventions always kept in mind where he wanted to arrive, and because he did so despite many failures he ultimately succeeded.
Vision is so important that we cannot succeed without it. But some people commit mistakes why developing their vision. Here are

Don’t fail to start with prayer. God is the giver of our destiny. It is therefore normal to live that destiny in collaboration with him hence, the importance of starting with prayer. God is not a God of confusion, whenever he sees a sincere seeker with a confused heart; he will do whatever it takes to help him see his will.

Don’t fail to find a quiet place. It is advisable that you think and plan for your future when you are alone. It is true for us children of God that He can drop an inspiration in our heart even in the presence of many people and even in the midst of plenty noise, but the moment you are alone you should re-think about the inspiration to properly understand it. It’s been proven that your mind is most receptive to visualization when you’re calm and not thinking about a lot of things simultaneously.

Don’t fail to consider the areas where you have been producing good results. The areas where you have been experiencing success can be an indication of the direction God wants you to carry your life to. Does it mean all the areas where you have failed till now can never be God’s will for your life? Not necessarily, we will rather say, things that are not working in your life now cannot be good areas to understand God’s will for your life. It is true that what is not working in your life today, may work tomorrow, but at the initial state of vision statement, it is preferable to consider more of the area you have been succeeding in.

Don’t be overwhelmed by the possible difficulties. If God is inspiring you with an especially great vision, you should not focus on its difficulties. Instead, focus on the rewards and benefits, even if at the same time weighing the costs and obstacles. Most people become overwhelmed by the difficulties of a vision and give it up. Beware of the difficulties but concentrate on the steps. The one-step-at-a-time principle is important in achieving vision. Even the largest visions are obtained one step at a time.

Don’t worry about all the details. Visualizing a goal is more important than knowing every detail or even any details of how you will achieve it. The first step for a painter is to visualize the end result, at least in concept; the means of achieving that result are extremely variable. He might need different materials and styles. And some of the steps may require new skills or may depend on ideas and inspiration that the artist knows will arrive at the appropriate time. He doesn’t worry about them not being there at the beginning. However it turns out, it will express his feelings and spirit, and that is more than good enough.

Don’t fail to ask the opinion of others. The opinion of others can also direct you as you seek to know what to be in the future. Always remember that even when God is acting in all his sovereignty he still uses but man to answer your prayer, therefore the advice of those who really love and care about you can be of great help in making a vision statement for your life.

Don’t fail to write it down. It is advised that the moment you start imagining who you want to be for God, it is better to put it in writing. That is why it is called a vision statement. Writing it will help you express it better, and to remember it easily. Write it in details. The stronger and more realistically detailed you make your visualizations, the better.

Don’t fail to make it positive, brief and appealing. When you are writing it down, state it in a positive manner a Powerful Vision Appeals to Your Heart. It appeals to your spirit, your emotion, and your intuition. A powerful vision paints a picture that is so alluring, so exciting, vivid, and real and challenging that you can almost taste it, feel it, and see it—because it’s right out there in front of you. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had such a vision. That’s why he said “I have a dream.” He did not say, “I have a strategic plan.” A powerful vision is brief and catchy.

Don’t fail to start doing. The more you do, the more you understand how God wants you to do it. Anyone who ever fulfilled his life’s destiny will tell you that he didn’t fully understand it at the beginning but as he started applying the little God had revealed to him, the more he discovered what God still had in store for him. Don’t wait until you know all what God wants you to do with your life before start to do it. Start from the little you know and along the way you will understand more of where God is taking you to.
